A sphere, sliced open. Orb holds pens, pencils, and the odd stray eraser in a ring of wells set into a globe that rocks gently to the touch before it settles. Cut at an angle rather than straight across, it catches light differently from every side — less a container, more a small planet that happens to be useful.

    Wells run small for thick markers

    Fine for gel pens and pencils but my chunkier Sharpies don't fit most of the wells, only the centre one. Would love a version with a couple of wider slots. Still looks great on the shelf.
