WHAT IT IS
Softer than a straight edge
A bead rim rounds every corner of the frame, so it reads soft from across the room and there is no sharp edge to catch on anything. It is the frame we make for the photo you actually want to look at, rather than the one you want people to notice.
The sanding is the work
Ninety-odd beads run around one frame and each of them comes off the machine with a seam. Every one gets taken back by hand before the frame is packed. It is why these take longer to make than anything else on the shelf.
Made to sit in a pair
Rosewood next to cream, mint next to lilac. Two of these on a shelf look deliberate in a way one does not, so the colours were drawn to work in pairs rather than alone.

Exactly the dusty pink I wanted
Bought it for a photo of my grandmother and it is perfect — soft, not sweet. The beads really are smooth, I checked because I was expecting print ridges.

I have two mass-produced frames on the same shelf and this one makes them look cheap. Weighty enough that it does not tip when the fan is on.

Lilac and mint together on the bedside table. They look like they were made to go together, which I gather is the point. Arrived well packed with no damage to the beads.
